I lose

Today was just one of those days I just had to wear black. I needed leggings because I wanted to be comfy. So along came a black top. I've been getting little sleep due to school and lack of effort on my part to not procrastinate ha. And this is like chic pajamas :)







Tonight will be more sleep, AKA an outfit that requires effort tomorrow :)

TV junkie

Me and my sister were eating lunch today watching re-runs of "keeping up with the Kardashians". I saw Kourtney's outfit and instantly thought... I can make that outfit. I made a mental note of everything she had on and then went downstairs and changed my outfit. Apparently TV has a huge influence on me ha. It seemed simple enough and comfortable.





Most people joke about this ring like " you can knock someone's teeth out with that thing!" ( If i had a Dollar for every time I've heard that).. or here's my favorite.. " You could eat a bowl of cereal off that ring" ... I'm gonna have try that sometime.. but I'm pretty sure its impossible.. Maybe I'll blog about it .. Sunday Best

I worked this morning and little to my knowledge it was "spring cleaning" at the EXP. I don't know if you know how much dust a clothing store collects.. but it's a lot. I would write you all of the things i dusted, and how much fun I had doing it but i'll spare you the riveting story. So when i got home my To-Do list looked a little something like this:

1. Nap
2. Wash hair
3. Paint Nails

ha.. truthfully that's what I wrote down :) and truthfully all i did was wash my hair. dang it.

Its been a good day of sweatpants, and lounging. But tonight I'm grabbing Chipotle (my addiction if you don't already know) with one of my cousins... ( i have about 40 cousins). I wanted something colorful and this shirt has like 4 colors in it right? ha. And then i paired it with this gem of a skirt. It's actually a dress worn as a skirt and it's actually a kids dress from Target. I haven't worn it in a while, and it feels like sweatpants in skirt form. So I'm continuing my all-day pajama look.

I forgot that today is me and Phil's 2 and a half year. I acknowledge the day, because I'm a hopeless romantic and because 2 and 1/2 years is a realllllllly long time to me! And who doesn't want to brag on their boyfriend for a day for no particular reason?? :)

Day to Date!

So last night my post described how I decided to buy more color. And then I took a picture of all my clearance finds and realized i still bought 2 black things. BUT one was a bottom, which i never buy bottoms so I WILL will a colored Top with it :) But I got to laughing because I didn't expand That much but at least acknowledging the need for change is the first step right?

Here are some of my purchases: Usually when i go shopping I take my purchases down the stairs as quickly as possible so my sisters cant see that I went shopping again. Because then i usually have to find reasons to justify. My cousin Tami said.. " Consider them investment pieces for your blog!" I agree with Tam.. that's what they are :)

The Gap had buy one get one free on clearance tops! And I had a coupon on 40 percent off clearance tops at The limited. So I got a lot for my money :)

I wore this first outfit to work and was proud of myself for wearing grey and white and no black :) This shirt was also one of my purchases from last night!

Less Black Pact!

So, I got to the house that i babysit every friday morning today and I was wearing my Go-to black flowy shirt and jeans with boots, because I didn't feel like putting effort into my wardrobe today. The little girl i babysit said and i quote: Evangeline- "Miss Kait you wear so much black, you wear so much black I feel like I can't even see you, your shirts black, your pants are black and your hairs' black."

I was so taken back that a 4 year old noticed my wardrobe so much. I was like.. seriously? do i wear it that much? I even specifically remember this whole week trying to wear color. So i decided I am going to shop for less black, and make a pact to myself.. less black more color!!

So .. I went shopping tonight on MAJOR clearance sales (which will be my next post) :) and i only bought one black thing. and i'll explain why tomorrow :)

Glad I got this off my chest. :)

Thrifty Thursday

I had a little time to kill before meeting my cousin for dinner last night, and I stopped at a local thrift store called "Mission Mart". All the proceeds go to help a local mission in town next door. So I thought shopping for a good cause? Yes please!



I found this beaut of a shirt! and I couldn't wait to snatch it up! It was only $2.99 under their "vintage boutique" section :) Such a steal...

Instantly it reminded me of an inspiration picture i saw on my cousin's blog: LOVE IT!












This is now one of my new favorite shirts. I see a long lasting relationship with it. :)


Lastly.. I saw my name on the "up and coming" bloggers on Bloglovin' and about peed my pants.. So of course I took a picture of it :)

My FIRST DIY! - kind of

So i had some inspiration lately from a few pictures I saw of large flower pins on tops and blazers. I wanted to buy one, but I thought why not just make one!
If you know me well, you know I'm not exactly the craftiest person ever. And this isn't exactly something everyone can do, because I'm using a headband I already owned.. But just go with it for a sec here. :)

what you need:
1. A giant flower head band you never wear
2. safety pin
3. hair clip
4. hot glue gun



First, search your house aimlessly for 20 minutes looking for a safety pin, and consume chocolate easter candy during your breaks of frustration.

Next, super glue safety pin, and flower clip the back of big flower...






AND THEN YOUR DONE!!!! Giant flower Pin is finished! Easy enough right? Here's some ways to wear it..

Me and my sister tried to do an outfit post quickly today because it was starting to rain, and it was a big Fail. We kept laughing we couldn't take it seriously. So we got about one shot :) so Here it is!




My sister had a vision of me standing on the fire hydrant looking cute, but even though it was 1 foot off the ground i was scurrreeed.


So i said.. I'll just sit.. yes that will be better...
