In the Details

I'm reading a style book written by the editor of Harper's Bazaar. The book emphasizes pieces over and over that will make or break your outfit. The basics every woman should have is a classic white button up, or a plain tailored black blazer, but every woman should also have pieces that make your look. I decided to take a very simple sweater and my favorite pair of jeans, and only add accessories to make the outfit. Sometimes an outfit is all in the details and not the actual pieces you wear. Even your nail color can make outfit pop! I have been obsessing over this mint green color for a couple weeks now. I can't get enough. Take one of your most simple favorite T's or sweaters and pair it with a couple bangles or a large belt, and your outfit already looks updated.

No words

I got a new clutch! And it brings me to no words! Ain't she purrty? I talked about it on my thursday latelies a couple weeks back, and I love it! A dear friend of mine custom made the bag for me, so it makes it that much more special to me.

Bug-a-boo baby makes these amazing clutches. Here is their facebook page! check out her great products! http://www.facebook.com/pages/bug-a-boo-baby/43324055793

These pictures are pretty dark, because me and my cousin thought it was a good idea to start shooting at 7:30. But i think it kind of adds a fun flair to them. I have really been into pattern mixing lately. I love wearing two completely different prints together is some way. My shirt has a light cheetah print, and then the bag is this swirly stripe, so together it gives a lot of contrast. I love this trend because it makes you feel innovative even if you aren't even trying.
The easiest way to pattern mix is mixing something striped, with maybe a cheetah print, or even a floral print. You may feel like you don't match but once you get over that part you end up looking very stylish :) People will notice as well!
Also wearing one loud pattern, and then mixing in a loud color is also a fun trend as well. So wearing a animal print cardigan with a bright yellow or orange shirt is a simple way to jazz up an outfit real quick! Be tasteful about your jewelry though, you don't want to overdo it!

Anyone else have a fun summer trend that they are loving?! let me know in the comments! :)

Rainbow

I think i managed to wear every color possible. Black and brown, red and blue, yellow in my hair. and 2 prints, cheetah and whatever my shirt is... fuzzy polka dots, or something. Sometimes you gotta mix it up a bit.
If you wanna live on the wild side, wear black and brown. Its slightly riveting, and its super cute. Just my fashion tip for the day.
I cant stop wearing these oxfords.. I think i've worn them everyday this week. I used to be scared of them, and now I can't take them off! They are a must have peeps!

First time for everything

So this is the first time all summer I've worn shorts. And the only pair I own.. This may be the first time in 3 summer's I've worn shorts. i was sort of self conscious, because I felt slightly like a safari guide in this oufit. haha, But by the end of the day I understand why it makes sense to wear shorts when its 116 with the humidity. I dont know if my scarf cancels out the shorts, but whatever, sometimes you make sacrifices for a good outfit right?

Here's my new oxfords I was talking about from my thursday latelies a couple weeks ago! LOVE EM!

My new pretty

Today I just felt like I needed a simple outfit without a lot of accessories, or extra pizzazz. I mean my shirt pretty much did that for me.. and plus its like a bajillion degrees.
Look at my new pretty! This picture reminds me slightly of the Lord of the rings when that Guy always says "My pretty!" and strokes the ring. This is coming from the girl who cant sit still for 4 hours. My boyfriends brothers always watch that movie, and I get the jist of it when I'm walking to and from the family room. Thats about all I got from that movie.

Anyways this purse was only 8 bucks.. and it fits the essentials: chipotle gift cards, keys, my new
chap stick in the shape of an egg that i'm obsessed with, and of course my iphone. durrr!

Happy wednesday everyone!

Shirt: the Limited

Mathematics

So I'm taking a summer class, and this is the LAST week! I only have 3 days left. If you know me at all you will know I am TERRIBLE at math, and hate it with a passion.

I dont know much about math, but I do know one equation:
Kait + shopping = happiness.
This is my birthday loot from two weeks ago... I am slightly particular with my new items and I'm really not sure where this came from.  Some psychotic things I do with new clothes are:
1. I ALWAYS have to look at everything when i get in the car, then fold them back neatly in the bag. (As if I've forgotten what I bought from an hour ago)
2. When i get home, I take everything out of the bags, and fold them neatly on my bed.
3. Then, I put all of my new clothes in a section of my closet, and they can not be integrated into the rest of my clothes until they have been worn, and the tags are off.
4. When I'm bored at work, or school I think of 3-5 different combinations of outfits I can make with each new shirt or pair of pants.

IS ANYONE ELSE LIKE THIS? I feel like I'm only OCD with my clothes, because I definately do not handle anything else in my life like this.
I don't understand when people say things like "shopping stresses me out", or " I hate to shop, I only go when I am forced." I feel like I'm talking to an alien being or something...
Maybe this is why I have hopes to become a personal shopper. Because then basically I'm getting paid to shop for a living. THEN i would be living a dream!
